THE LEGENDARY MOUNTAIN PASSES OF THE TOUR DE FRANCE

In the heart of the Vosges Mountains, the legendary mountain passes take on special meaning. The Ballon d'Alsace was the first mountain stage of the Tour de France in 1905.

La Planche des Belles Filles made a resounding entry in 2012 among the arrival cities of the Tour. The site is now a must for those who want to tackle the ascents. But be aware that the final slope is 22% and is reserved for seasoned climbers!

Looking for more? Belfort's cyclotourism association awards the title of Climber of the Ballon d'Alsace to those who succeed the ascent of this legendary summit by its three faces: from Franche-Comté, Lorraine and Alsace.

The latest news: in 2019, La Planche des Belles Filles will once again be on the route of the Tour de France, as the arrival of the 157-km sixth stage!

FILL UP ON ENERGY

CHARGING STATIONS FOR E-BIKES AND E-MTBS

Connected and on trend, the Vosges Mountains have recently installed charging stations for electric bikes and mountain bikes.
The free, self-service charging terminals can be found in the resorts of Champ du Feu and Lac Blanc, along the Crest Road, and near Thann all the way to the Ballon d'Alsace. These stations allow cyclists to increase their journey and climb the mountains without (too much) effort.

A CYCLING ROUTE ON THE RIGHT TRACK

THE HIGHER VOSGES GREENWAY

The Higher Vosges Greenway follows the old railway along the Moselle and Moselotte rivers, linking Remiremont to Cornimont or Bussang over 53 km of marked paths. A real breath of fresh air with a backdrop of lush green landscapes and mountains, with plenty of reasons to stop and take in the views. You won’t be alone as you travel along this secure and multi-fitted trail: it's not uncommon to cross paths with cyclists at full speed, with daydreaming strollers in search of inspiration or with athletes training on roller skis.

PASSPORT FOR ADVENTURE

THE ROUTE VERTE, FROM CONTREXÉVILLE TO DONAUESCHINGEN

A living painting of the territory, the route has 15 stages, from Contrexéville to Donaueschingen, with a multitude of decors and viewpoints along the way.
